ChristopherPyett0094Barbara Pyett lives in Pearcedale, country Victoria, Australia with her artist husband, Christopher, and Millie, their Spoodle. Childhood sweethearts; later following Christopher to art school in the 1960s. Their lives linked up thirty years on and they were married at McClelland Gallery and Sculpture Park on 30th June, 2000 with their five children in attendance.

After many travels, Barbara completed her degree in her early 40s and taught in special schools in Canberra before coming to Victoria to marry Christopher. She now divides her time between writing, gardening and enjoying her grandchildren, with occasional trips to visit family.

Barbara has written her memoir, ‘Enduring Threads’, as yet unpublished. She had her first children’s book published in 2011, a Christmas story, titled, ‘Lily’s Wish.’ She continues to write for children and is looking into possible ways of publishing her work.

      The pre-edited version of the first part of Enduring Threads is on my blog, but i should do something about getting the whole thing published, even if self published.
      It feels a huge thing for me to tackle at the moment, so it will continue to sit there in the one day basket.

    It seems to me that your life started in early 40’s 🙂 What degree did you get, Barbara? Has someone other than you written that introduction? I wonder cause of the third person….

      Paula, I did write this in the 3rd person, don’t know why now! I was born in 1946. My degree was a Bachelor of Arts, (Secondary teaching qualification included). ❤

      thanks you! no – this does not have personal meaning right now – but I wanted to add it to a “page” I was making – and well, I ran out of time and so for now I will add it to my quotes page. It really is just so unique.

      also, I think it is funny that I could not find it either – maybe you have a blog nanny who cleans for you. ha!!

        well I also wish I had a computer nanny – and I was shocked the other day when I saw folders within folders within folders. And so cleaning those up (or just tossing them) is another summer goal.

    It does have the tick in the follow, so am not sure why. I too, like to read, as much as time permits. It’s always a joy to read your posts. Now I shall try to work out how to do the next phase of accepting the awards, I’m not totally au fait with computers!! shall do my best.
