Three Coins in a Fountain, WP prompt by Krista Have you ever tossed a coin or two into a fountain and made a wish? Did it come true?
Tossing a coin into a fountain or wishing on white horses is like throwing desires out into the Universe. As a child looking for white horses or black crows broke the boredom of a journey. Little ditties such as, ‘One for a wish, two for a kiss, three for a letter, four for something better.’
Or,’ One for sorrow, two for joy, three for a letter, four for a boy, five for silver, six for gold, seven for a story never to be told.’ Choosing which ever gave the better result. Putting multiple wishes out to the Universe meant that some of them conflicted.
I’m sure my multiple wishes have been granted, perhaps not as I expected, but over time, each and every wish has been satisfied. Knowing I’m looked after has allowed the Universe to fulfil my wishes. Anxiety and worry only block channels. So wishing all of you reading this, peace and contentment and may your wishes come true. Be careful what you wish for:

I did it once but it hasn’t yet come true. I hope you find your wish😊

I was introduced to ‘car cricket’ by my step-kids. I didn’t have a clue what they were talking about at first!

What a lovely, lovely post, Barbara. All those wishes we’ve all wished and, in the end, it comes down to realizing peace and finding happiness in what we have.

I like how you phrased this: like “throwing desires out into the Universe.” I think the same applies to dream interpretation, tea leaves, horoscopes… at the very least we will get some insight into our needs and wants, choices and desires, for the moment.

I’m sure all children wish, it is only as adults we realise we must reign in our desires and choose wisely! Yes, Maggie, it’s interesting how when I read a horoscope, I can always find something that suits me! ❤

Gerard, on an old post I gave the wrong name to the red hot poker looking flower. It was an Aloe vera! Sorry I lead you astray.

‘…perhaps not as I expected..’ I think that’s the key. It doesn’t do to be too specific about wishes, sometimes the universe knows better!
