Snow in Tasmania is common in the highlands, but not everywhere. I know you Canadians will laugh, but we get such joy from seeing snow which doesn’t happen often. These photos were taken at my cousin Harry’s farm, ‘Cheverton,’ at Deloraine.

Photographs taken by Harry Haines.
What a lovely white blanket 🙂 Snow always looks best when fresh and clean and I can appreciate why this is special for you, much like hoar frost is to me. It must have been a calm day as well since the snow was not blown from the branches, seen on the right in the first photo. Very cool indeed! ❤

Thanks Stephanie, it is a particularly cold winter this year and exciting to see the snow!

I love it when it comes down and it’s very pretty when it is only for a few days or weeks, after that the charm does fade a bit. Here in the UK, it is totally unpredictable.

I can remember it snowing only twice in my Primary School days, so it’s very special when it does. 🙂

This last snow was unusual in that it was on the streets of Hobart and there were pictures of snow on some beaches such as Blackman’s Bay.
