    I love that you chose to share so many pictures of the different walls in your home. I personally am partial to the display of plates in the first picture, and since I live in New Mexico the red chiles caught my eye. And I believe I saw a Navajo rug on a table. Very nice mix of different objects.

      Thank you for your wonderful comment. Yes, the chillies are from last year, and the new ones are ready to be picked to replace them. My husband doesn’t like chilli in food, but I just love to see them hanging anyway. Yes, a friend brought us the Navajo rug back, and we’re delighted to have it! I loved seeing photos of your area when our friend returned from New Mexico!

    I love all the interesting things on the walls. When someone walks into the home they get the beauty of the eclectic look. It’ like my fairy gardens because there is so much to see and they always tell a story

    Love these walls, and the stunning paintings. Ours are covered with my daughter’s and my old flatmate (Royal Academician)’s paintings and drawings, my cousins photos, and my other’s daughter’s posters for plays, oh and the of photo of family. I am always wailing for another wall.

    Great walls with so many lovely paintings. I noticed the red chillies too. Our walls try and reflect peace and serenity with some of my paintings and some by others. No artificial flowers. Helvi should have been an interior architect, instead she chose high school, teaching languages instead.

      Good to know that you paint too, Gerard. I’m sure Helvi has exquisite taste coming from Scandinavia. Our flowers came from the antique warehouse, not far away, and we were given a whole lot when one old lady died. She somehow imbued them with her love of antiquity and some are so beautifully made. Both our mothers would have had a fit to see us housing them!!
      That makes us love them all the more!! I’m sure Helvi’s gift of languages has helped many young people become interested in life outside Australia, as well as learning new languages.
