This wonderful aquatic centre has recently opened in our nearest city, Frankston. Frankston is not held in high regard by many, probably due to high unemployment, and drug related problems. It is wonderful seeing the children appreciate this new facility. The huge yellow bucket at the top, fills with water, and a bell rings about every ten minutes as a warning before it tips over and floods all beneath it! The children come back again and again to have this water tipped over them!
I did think of Gerard O.’s post about his holiday at Port Macquarie, when I saw some that shouldn’t, carrying plastic plates of chips! Swimming is a secondary activity after this major play centre with slides and water pipes that become water guns and sprays of all sorts are activated which opens at 10am. How lucky we are, when water has become such a precious commodity, that children are still able to enjoy the pleasure of water play.
Particularly when the weather is so hot.

One of our council-owned aquatic centres (fortunately the one closest to us) has this same sort of playpark in its complex, in addition to two waterslides. Oh, and pools… I just wish it had opened sooner when my boys were a bit younger. They would happily have spent an entire day there, I’m sure.

Apparently this one is a duplicate of yours, according to the boys. They’ve been taken once to the Geelong one and they were delighted to see this one is the same. I didn’t go on the big water slide, maybe next time! I’m sure these two boys would be happily ensconced there for full days too, given the opportunity! There is a gym overlooking the pools, wonderful facilities!

It was really a heavy lot of water Kayti, but it didn’t deter the kids! I wasn’t game, this time!!

All kids including mature kids would love this. Is this aquatic centrer run by the local council?

I must find out Gerard, it’s a big complex with exercise classes etc as well as swimming pools.
It may be council run as the car park had the official tickets, with refunds of $4 after purchasing entrance fee. ($4 covers 2 hours parking).Thinking about it, yes, it must be council run.
