Blogging has become a burden, so I am taking a break. Summer has arrived with all the jobs that need doing outside: Cleaning gutters, distributing compost, refilling compost bins, weeding, trimming and watering. Of course, there are the satisfying jobs like picking raspberries and snow peas too.

Sitting inside is an enjoyable winter activity. Writing will take a back seat as December is a time for family coming to stay, and others visiting.

I shall be back from time to time, but no longer as a daily visitor to your blogs. A bit of peace, I can hear you say. Yeh!

Shall be back to bring updates on how Chris’s painting is going. Maybe there will be some writing when I catch up with the backlog of chores to complete. I know you are all probably feeling the same pressures of the festive season.

Wrapping Santa presents and making sure all the children’s’ presents are bought and wrapped is the pleasurable part of this time of the year. Preparing the Christmas tree is another joy, especially seeing the faces of the children when they arrive. Warmest wishes to you all, especially those of you in the Northern Hemisphere, and cool good wishes to those in the Southern Hemisphere! Merry Christmas to you all!                                                                    Thank you all for your wonderful support, visits and comments, I do appreciate you all.

    I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas! It is true; this time of year it just takes over. And I, like you, want to enjoy it and not feel frazzled and exhausted by trying to do too much. I also relate to your comments about summer; when it was summer here, it just flew by and I got very little done besides “summer things.” Blogging is something that I enjoy so much, especially reading certain people’s posts (like yours, for sure!) , yet I find I can’t do it as much as I would like to and still do other things. . . I was telling a friend recently that I was having trouble trying to find balance, and she said she tries more for Harmony than balance. And I love that! xoxo, Dixie

    Hope you have a lovely Christmas break Barbara. I’m up burning the midnight oil trying to prepare a post or two before I down tools later in the month also. Come back invigorated and in the meantime enjoy the great weather. I’m not jealous, I promise 😉

      Pamela, I hope you get all of those posts written before taking your break. I wonder if you’ll have Christmas in Ireland, or is that too cold at this time of the year? Have a happy family Christmas where ever you might be! ❤

      That’s so kind Janet.Thank you! I thought of 2 words the other day, thinking of an old post of yours. Senescence or senescent, growing old and ageing. The other was uxoriously, which I’ve used only on paper, not in speech! All good wishes, and i’ll be back before long!

    I wish you and those you hold dear a most happy and blessed Christmas and New Year. I hope you will be checking in. I don’t blog every day because I didn’t want it to be a burden or like work. I do it when I feel like it or have something to say and no set schedule. I’d probably have more followers, but that isn’t important. I’ve met some nice people like you. I think hearing about those Santa presents or the tree or a thought or two would nice. Somewhere out there, we are told all these rules for blogging and one is that we have to do it everyday. I hope you will visit with us as often as you feel like saying hello. Your voice will always be a welcome sound. And I hope you will find the fun in blogging again and enjoy yourbreak. Blessings to you.
