It’s interesting watching the portraits progress – I’m looking forward to the final works. Your flowers are pretty – my small garden is going dormant for the winter.
It’s amazing to think how we can communicate so far from each other! When I lived overseas, it took at least a week for a letter to come, now it’s all so instant! Fantastic. I shall continue showing the progress and the final portraits when they’re done, and a few garden photos thrown in too.
Maggie, you are right, they’re called Columbine here too. Aquilegia is their botanical name.
Do you find that plant names are changing in Canada? Here, what was geranium is now pelargonium.
It’s been a while since I’ve been to a greenhouse, but my sense is that most plants are sold by the common name rather than the Latin. Though if you speak with anyone from a gardening club, that’s a different matter.
I was photographing the last rose of summer today…

And so it should. Christopher’s talent is beyond need of exclamation from your followers, but it’s the pleasure of seeing the small changes …

Even the common names change here, which is very confusing!

Like at any moment in life there is a completeness in an incomplete painting. These are superb and revealing of the painter’s craft and skills.
