Paintings progressing well. Chris does have a very intricate style. I was certain you had that Callistemon upside down until I read the caption! Beautiful colour. I’m watching the native shrubs on my walk, there is at least one bottlebrush, yet to flower. 🙂

It’s so interesting following the progression of these portraits. Christopher’s technique appears so abstract, yet he evokes such strong feeling and a personal sense of his subjects. Unique and wonderful! And may I say, Barbara, you have such a kind, calm, regal bearing in this portrait. Like a Scandinavian queen. 🙂

Steve, both Chris and I are very appreciative of your comment! Yes, his portraits are unique and the technique is incredibly detailed; so that one colour plays against another. (So flesh is better made from three colours rather than one). I feel he captures the essence of his subject too. Thank you for your kind words regarding my ‘regal bearing’, wow, I shall look at the painting differently now!! ❤ 🙂

Well M-R, Chris loves your comments. We haven’t a lot of portraits about, but shall send one he did of Dame Elisabeth, that’s hanging elsewhere at present… and yes, I am very lucky to be living with such a talented bloke! ❤

Can’t comment on the first WIP as I’ve never seen a photo, but the one of you is simply sensational, Ba !!! Has Christopher always included portraits in his work ? – and if so, would love to see some shots via your phone/whatever of others … Must be wonderful being married to so immensely talented a bloke !
